Angie Amalfi's latest job, developing the menu for a new inn, sounds enticing, a week in northern California with her homicide detective boyfriend. Although SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GUNFIGHTER features the same director and many of the same cast members as SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF, the film isn't a sequel to the latter movie. Instead, it's another delightful collaboration between director Burt Kennedy and leading man James Garner. This time around Garner plays Latigo Smith, a wandering con man who arrives in the town of Purgatory. When two competing mine owners mistake him for a hired gunman, Latigo sees a chance to get his hands on some of their ill-gotten gains.
