Mysterious goings-on in Martha's Vineyard--a vanished hearse driver and a missing coffin--are tied to a series of murders. Victoria Trumbull, the 92-year-old deputy police chief, must use all of her considerable faculties and her extensive local knowledge to nab the killer, even as her life is disrupted by the new boarder in her house.
