Joanna Brady is an Arizona sheriff who is in the middle of a tough reelection campaign. She is distracted, however, by three murders that seem to be related--one of them involving a pile of dead dogs. And then there's a strange Mexican cult that may be involved. As Joanna tries to juggle all the elements of her life, she also finds out that she's pregnant....
