In a small town in West Virginia, five women seeking to help Penelope, a friend with an abusive husband, dress in pink sheets and form a vigilante group. They kidnap Jed, Penelope`s tormentor, and, in the ensuing chaos, one of them shoots and kills him. But Jed is the son of a prominent senator, and as the women try frantically to cover up the crime--and wonder if, indeed, they shot the right man--the FBI gets involved....
