When the local historical society finds a Confederate soldier's diary hinting of hidden gold, the town of Maggody is afire with ideas about how to find it. The diary also inspires a documentary film crew to visit town. When a member of the historical society dies in a suspicious manner, it's up to Police Chief Arly Hanks to sort out the mess.
