This is the eighth in a mystery series about psychic singer Nuala and her husband Dermot, a pair of Irish amateur sleuths who live in Chicago. This time, Nuala chooses to interfere in the fate of Damian Day O'Sullivan, whose wealthy, lace-curtain family blames him for a murder. The young man himself believes he's guilty, but Nuala is convinced that he's falsely accused and sets out to find the truth. Meanwhile, Nuala and Dermot discover and read the diary of a 19th-century mystery-solving priest.
